CONSCIOUS REMINDER: “7 Signs Your Calling Is A Modern Day Shaman”

Ascension Avatar note: With prominent Native American heritage, gifted (or cursed?) with OBEs, levitation, and having survived three NDEs… this article really ‘called’ to me today… 🙂

.  .  .

A Shaman is a person who helps others to awaken their consciousness and heals the wounds of the humanity.

In this article we’ll share 7 signs which will tell if you can be a shaman or not. Here are the signs that you are being called on the Shamanic Path.

1. YOU FEEL A STRONG CONNECTION TO NATURE

You understand that everything in the world is connected. Thus you feel close to the nature. You see yourself as a part of the nature. You can even experience the joy and the pain that a dog (or any other animal) feels. Like other Shamans, you believe in the concept of ‘the web of life’.

2. YOU ENJOY SOLITUDE AND FIND IT HARD TO FIT IN WITH OTHERS

Since the ancient times, shamans have been living a life of solitude. They lived outside the villages and were considered as ‘different’. However, they were the reverent figures as they possessed the wisdom of this world and the other world. Their gift of sensitivity and empathy was also respected.

3. YOU’VE EXPERIENCED A NEAR-DEATH, OUT-OF-BODY OR MYSTICAL EXPERIENCE

To be called a shaman, you must experience death and rebirth. Thus, most shamans experience a near death experience or a life threatening problem. Only after healing from this condition can a shaman really possess true powers.

4. YOU’VE FELT A SUBTLE HEALING ENERGY IN YOUR HANDS

You have the ability to control and manipulate energy in others’ bodies.

5. YOU CAN EASILY ‘READ’ OTHERS

People having Shamanic frequency are able to feel and tell people’s emotions and problems. Thus, you can even tell sometimes about the possible solutions for a problem without even knowing it.

6. YOUR ANCESTORS WERE ALSO HEALERS

Many a times it is observed that the shamanic abilities are inherited from the forefathers. Thus if your father or grandfather was a shaman, there is real chance that you are too.

7. YOU CAN SEE THINGS THAT OTHERS CAN’T SEE

You have been introduced to the hidden dimensions at a very early age. Thus you can see and feel things that others cannot. To control this huge influx, you must have fluidity in your mind.

What do you think about these signs? Are you showing any of these signs? Maybe you know someone who is.

Let us know your thoughts!

CHRYSILLA LEWIES: “Find Your Life’s Purpose”

“Our life purpose isn’t always something big. It can be as simple as taking it easy, being a good listener, a collector of information, a protector of historic artefacts, doing healing and energy work, or helping animals. We are multidimensional beings and depending on how open-minded you are, I have found people to be ‘anchors’: bringing in higher vibrational frequencies and anchoring it into the planet and they do it by just being here.”

~Chrysilla Lewies

Finding our life purpose is a question most of us seek in life. It gives Life a purpose and gives us direction and clarity to know the meaning to why we are here. This article will hopefully assist you in finding your purpose.

The first step to find one’s life purpose is to start by doing self-inquiry and you can do that by asking yourself two questions:

1. Who am I?

2. What am I?

By making a list of the above including all the things you enjoy such as your hobbies or your passions you will get a visual image of what’s already your life purpose, the things you love and the things that brings you fulfilment. So many of us are in jobs that we hate and doing things that doesn’t feel good and it may make you feel like you’re swimming upstream with a rush of water that keeps pushing you back and no matter what you do, it feels like you’re just not getting anywhere. Getting to know your life purpose will come naturally to you.

Making a list

Make a list of all the things you enjoy doing and then make a list of all the things you might be doing out of obligation or responsibility.

When you are doing something that doesn’t align with what you really want to do, it means that you are suffering (emotionally) and this could be minor things that you don’t think is important at all. By becoming present and questioning everything you do (your actions) you will become more aware and step into who you truly are and become aware of your life purpose more fully.

Our life purpose isn’t always something big. It can be as simple as taking it easy, being a good listener, a collector of information, a protector of historic artefacts, doing healing and energy work, or helping animals. We are multidimensional beings and depending on how open-minded you are, I have found people to be ‘anchors’: bringing in higher vibrational frequencies and anchoring it into the planet and they do it by just being here.

Find joy in life, go out and experience the world, meet new people, and in that experience, we open the doors to endless possibilities.

LISSA RANKIN: “10 Signs You’ve Found Your Calling”

10 Signs You've Found Your Calling.png

How can you tell if you’ve found your calling?  As a doctor who was called to medicine at a young age but then wound up disillusioned by the system, questioning my calling, I’ve asked myself this question a lot.  It’s been a long strange trip — first leaving medicine, then feeling called back, then leaving again only to find my role in healing our broken health care system as a writer, speaker, revolutionary, and teacher of physicians.

Along the way, I’ve learned a few things about how to know whether you’re on the right track.

1. You’ll realize you’ve been training for your calling since the moment you were born.

Even the gritty things, the disappointments, the regrets, and the screw ups, they were all prepping you for what you’re now being called to do.  You’ll realize that the divorce, the bankruptcy, the death of your loved one, the failure, the rejection — it was just school, teaching you the lessons your soul needed to learn in order to be who you’re being called to be.

2. Mystical things will start happening.

You might be tempted to write them off as coincidences, only they’re too perfect, too exactly-what-you-need in that particular moment, too much like miracles to call them accidents.  The synchronicities will fill you with a sense of wonder, because they’re proof positive that you’re being guided, that you’re not in this alone, that Someone is moving mountains to ensure that your mission is a success.

3. When you get off course, you’ll get redirected.

Doors you longed to walk through will slam shut.  If you take the wrong fork in the road, your path will be littered with barbed wire and mustard gas and dragons and sharp knives lining the path.  You’ll get the hint that you’ve made a wrong turn, steering yourself off course from your date with destiny, when the journey becomes a relentless struggle.  The deal will fall through.  The money will run out.  The mentor who’s been providing the magical gifts won’t follow you onto the wrong path.  People won’t sign up.  You’ll be rerouted just as magically as you were steered to your calling in the first place.

4. You’ll be guided by ease, even in the face of obstacles.

When you find yourself struggling to get through an obstacle-ridden forest, it can be hard to tell: is your commitment just being tested, or have you veered off course?  Obstacles can be part of the growth process, the cultivation of your inner hero, a necessary part of your hero’s journey.  But they can also be signs that you’ve made a wrong turn.  How can you tell the difference?  The guidepost you can trust is a sense of movement towards ease.  If the challenges are mounting, things are getting worse, one hard struggle is piling upon the other, you’ve probably gotten seduced off-course from your true calling, and the Universe is just waiting patiently, twiddling Divine thumbs because you have free will, but never giving up faith that you’ll find your way back to your calling, which will always lead you to your own holy grail.  When you’re back on track, things start to flow again.

5. Magical mentors will appear just in the nick of time.

Just when you need it most, the right people will show up, with just the tools you’ll need to support you and your journey in an almost mystical way.

6. Your health is likely to improve.

A strange but welcome side effect of finding your calling is that your health is likely to improve.  You may notice fewer cravings for unhealthy foods, you’ll have more energy for moving your body, aches and pains that used to plague you might disappear, you’ll feel less tired, and chronic illnesses you may be battling may start to get better.

Take Andy Mackie, for example.  At 59 years old, Andy Mackie had undergone nine heart surgeries and was taking 15 medications to try to keep him alive, but the medicines left him feeling horrible, so one day, he told his doctors he wanted to stop the drugs.  They told him if he did, he’d die within a year, so Andy decided if he was dying, he wanted to do something he’d always wanted to do.

So he took the money he would’ve spent on his medications and used it to buy 300 harmonicas, and he gave them away to children, complete with harmonica lessons.  The following month, he was still alive, so he bought another 300 harmonicas.  Thirteen years and 20,000 harmonicas later, Andy Mackie finally passed away.

7. You may find that money flows in just as you’re ready to throw in the towel.

I’m not suggesting that you won’t wind up in debt or staring at an empty bank account when you used to have a full one or even bankrupt.  But if you’re on the right path, you won’t wind up living under that freeway overpass near what used to be your house, and you may find that money appears almost magically once you’re really right in the dead center of your life’s purpose.

8. You may feel strangely peaceful, even when you have every reason to be anxious.

Everyone around you will likely think you’re crazy.  A part of you will agree with them.  But a wise inner knowing, that part of you I call your Inner Pilot Light, will be so comforted by the fact that you’re finally on the path to your purpose that you may feel unusually calm — until your rational mind kicks in.

Our souls long to express what we’re here on this earth to express, and when you finally fall into alignment with your calling, your soul does a little happy dance.  It may appear as if everything else in your life is falling apart, but you’ll have this sense of peace, a huge relief, that at least—  finally — you know what you’re called to do.

9. The Universe will roll out the red carpet.

When what you’re being called to do is what is needed for the highest good of all beings, the Universe will bend over backwards to hand you whatever you need on a silver platter.  No request is too small.  A copywriter may volunteer to help you just when you were thinking you needed to write a sales page.  Someone will donate a printer when it’s time print a flyer.  You’ll feel so supported, so lucky, that you’ll know you’re on track, even if you’re not quite clear what you’re on track to do.

10. Your people will find you.

Few can fulfill a calling alone.  Most of us need a tribe to lift us up as we do brave, scary, world-changing things.  But don’t worry.  When you’re really on purpose, your people will find you, if only you’re courageous enough to be vulnerable about what you’re being called to do.

Do Any Of These Sound Familiar?

Have you found your calling?  Or are you still looking for it?  If you’ve found your calling, YEAH!  The world needs you!  Blessings to you on your hero’s journey.

GREGG PRESCOTT, M.S.: “The Dark Night Of The Soul”

raven-988226_960_720

At some point in your life, you will experience the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ where it seems that everything that can possibly go wrong, will go wrong.  What many people fail to realize is that this is a true blessing.

The ‘Dark Night of the Soul‘ occurs when your life appears to hit rock bottom.  You may experience a plethora of ‘bad breaks’ in your personal life, financially, mentally and/or physically.

What typically happens during the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ is that we get so pounded by all of these experiences that we end up reflecting on “Why did this happen to me?”

“It is precisely because we resist the darkness in ourselves that we miss the depths of the loveliness, beauty, brilliance, creativity, and joy that lie at our core.”

~Thomas Moore, Dark Nights of the Soul

When The Cleansing Begins

At first, you may feel hatred towards those who contributed to your ‘Dark Night of the Soul’.  You might question the Creator and feel as though your spirit guides and guardian angels have failed you.  This couldn’t be further from the truth.

Eventually, you realize that you needed to experience everything that you went through in order to grow spiritually.

In time, you will end up surrendering yourself and your ego to whatever the Universe has in store for you as if it is all now in the “Creator’s hands”.  This is where the cleansing begins.

Your Soul Contract, Guides and Guardian Angels

Before you incarnated here,  you made a soul contract that involved everyone who led you to your ‘Dark Night of the Soul’. When you were on the other side of the veil, you specifically chose these people to help you grow spiritually.  Some of these people may have also had previous karmic relationships with you in which you both needed to try to resolve in this incarnation.

Your spirit guides and guardian angels are with you every second of your life.  When you feel pain and sorrow, they do too.  As much as they want to see you happy, they also realize that you need to experience certain life situations in order to grow spiritually.  Every day, you are being guided in the right direction towards fulfilling your life’s purpose and that guidance includes experiencing the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’.

“Letting go of our images of God can be terrifying.  It is often the result of an experience of suffering in our lives, when our previous understanding is no longer adequate to give meaning to what has happened to us.  When my mother died suddenly in my early thirties, I was thrust into the desert.  All of my certainties about God and life were stripped away and I was left raw and frightened.  Many people offered trite words and shallow comfort in my grief, they were not willing to sit with me in the darkness, but only hoped to rush me through to a place of light.  This is the mystical experience of the “dark night of the soul,” when old convictions and conformities dissolve into nothingness and we are called to stand naked to the terror of the unknown.  We must let the process move through us — one which is much greater than we can comprehend.  We can never force our way back to the light.  It is only in this place of absolute surrender that the new possibility can emerge.  We don’t just have one dark night in our lives, but again and again, as we are called to continue releasing the images we cling to so tightly.”

~Christine Valters Paintner

A Blessing In Disguise

The true blessing of the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ is the spiritual cleansing that you receive.  When you have reached the ‘Dark Night of the Soul,’ you have reached your lowest point in this incarnation.  To that I say, “Congratulations!”  From this day forward, your life will take on a new meaning as you begin to understand why everything HAD to happen the way it did.  Once you come out on the other side of the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ you will gain a new perspective and appreciation of what you had to go through and these experiences will exponentially magnify your spiritual progression.

Typically, many people will experience the loss of ego for the first time in their life during the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’.  This can be a very humbling experience. We typically associate a title or our accomplishments with who we are but fail to see that ultimately, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.  When we lose our ego, we can finally connect to our spiritual essence because we are no longer associating ourselves with society’s preconception (or our own preconception) of who we are.

The ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ gives us a new sense of appreciation for all that is good in life and shows us how little we truly need to be happy.

But the most important aspect gained through the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ is the connectedness we receive through our transformation of consciousness.  It’s as if you are given a new lease on life.  You stop blaming other people and begin to look within for answers.  You learn forgiveness and gratitude. You realize that you needed to have these experiences in order to get you pointed in a new direction that will facilitate your spiritual growth and life purpose.

If You Are Currently Experiencing The Dark Night Of The Soul

If you are currently experiencing the ‘Dark Night of the Soul,’ I can assure you that there are much happier and fulfilling days ahead of you.  At some point, you should put your faith in the Creator’s hands and know that you are always being divinely guided toward your life purpose.

Look at where your life has taken you and what direction you are being shown to go.  Try to forgive those who have led you to your ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ as well as forgiving yourself.

Don’t try to force any immediate changes because they will come to you when you are ready. Sometimes during the dark night of the soul, the best thing to do is nothing and just live in the “now”.

While it may not seem like it right now, the people who led you to this point are most likely part of your soul group.  On the other side of the veil, they loved you so much that they volunteered to lead you into the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ if you ever got to the point of where you were veering from your life’s purpose… even if it meant that they would no longer be part of your life during this incarnation.

The best way to look at the dark night of the soul is to compare it to a butterfly.  Before your dark night, you were a slow moving caterpillar who was limited to a small area because of your lack of mobility.  You didn’t realize how much more you were capable of doing until you spun your cocoon. Once you emerged from your cocoon, you transformed yourself into a beautiful butterfly whose boundaries were limitless! In this analogy, the cocoon is where you do “nothing” except going within.  You are on the verge of a spiritual transformation, so let go of your ego, surrender to the Universe and soon you’ll be spreading your wings in flight!
