THE SPIRIT SCIENCE: “The 6 Kinds of Psychic Ability: Which One Is Your Most Prominent?”

Do you ever wonder how some people just seem to ‘get it?’ Perhaps they seem to ‘know’ things that would be impossible to know or even predict the future. Chances are, they’ve harnessed their inner extra-sensory talents.

If you find yourself wanting to develop your own goddess-given intuitions, a good starting point is first knowing the types of main psychic capabilities. Perhaps you will discover that you are already receiving these gifts!

The six main types of intuitive skills we will explore here, called the clairs (French = ‘clear’), are all about sensing and receiving spiritual information. They are related to the five physical senses, and you may find that you are most in tune with the psychic abilities that are associated with your most vivid physical senses. For example, if your eyesight is particularly keen, you may find that you are naturally clairvoyant.

With some practice, anyone can tune into their natural psychic abilities! Here are the six major types:

Clairvoyance – Seeing

Perhaps the most well known, and least understood, psychic talent is clear-seeing.

More often than not, the sense of clairvoyance isn’t so dramatic as it is portrayed in film or other media.

Someone who is clairvoyant does not necessarily have clear visions or ‘see’ the future. The power is more subtle than that.

You may just get an idea of a particular symbol, number or color in your head. You’re ‘seeing’ it, but you may not understand what the vision is trying to tell you.

Not all things you see physically are meant to be taken literally. However, if the ability is strong within you, you may get to the point where you literally “see it coming.”

Clairaudience – Hearing

It may ‘sound’ strange, but those who are clairaudient can ‘hear’ messages that are beyond the realm of the physical ears.

We’re talking about phenomena that most people are unable to hear, such as psychic sounds, voices, music, etc.

Sometimes, it’s even as dramatic as an ‘inner voice’ that gives you a specific command, like to go somewhere, move in a specific direction, or even stop what you’re doing completely.

Clairaudient mediums are those who can receive messages from entities who have passed on to a different plane, such as ancestors or deceased loved ones.

Clairsentience – Feeling

We will sometimes call someone who is very sensitive to the feelings of others an ‘empath.’ Simply put, these people have a very honed clairsentience. This is the ability to intuit physical sensations, feelings, or emotions. Empathy is just one form of it.

Some who are clairsentient may even be withdrawn or outcasts from society and not even know why.

They may struggle to be around people because they feel everything so much, leaving them overwhelmed, anxious and exhausted. Once in awhile, we all feel drained from being around people who are ‘down,’ or feel the energy of someone who is excited. This is our inner clairsentience.

When your clairsentience is strong, you may even get feelings about others, such as when someone is lying or even physically ill. You may simply ‘feel’ it.

Claircognizance – Knowing

You may not have learned the facts or logic behind a concept, but you may just naturally know it anyway.

This inner knowing is called claircognizance.

Sometimes it’s as simple as mistrusting someone. Once in awhile it’s as dramatic as knowing not to get in a person’s car they end up crashing.

Obviously, homing your inner knowledge can carry some powerful import. When you’ve done this, random intuitive thoughts will sometimes just come into your head.

Clairgustance – Tasting

Sometimes we have that funny taste in our mouths. This is often clairgustance, inner tasting.

One simple example is that you may ‘taste’ cake while getting ready for work, then go to work and find out that someone had a birthday to celebrate and a cake was brought to celebrate.

Mediums who have an amplified clairgustance can often taste the types of food that were formerly favored by the spirit with whom they are communicating.

Clairgustance also puts a different spin on dieting! Think if you could just taste all the naughty foods you love without actually ingesting them.

Clairsalience – Smelling

The last psychic capability we will explore today is intuitive smelling.

Sometimes we just get a strong sense in our psychic noses, such as a whiff of a meadow full of flowers, which we actually pass by physically at some point in our day.

Mediums with a strong sense of clairalience will sometimes get a strong sense of the passed one’s favorite perfume, which family members oftentimes find very comforting.

The sense of smell is powerfully associated with memory, and if we strengthen this skill of psychic smelling we can become very powerful beings in ways we don’t normally think about when we’re talking about these abilities.

Are there any senses on this list that you relate to? Share what they are and how you made them stronger within yourself!

JANE MEGGITT: “Ways Cats Understand Physics”

Flying or jumping kitten cat isolated on white

Of course, if you play with your cat, you already know he understands string theory…

The Kyoko University study may win an award for the most adorable science project ever, as much of it consists of videotaped cat reactions. While the study proved that cats have an elemental understanding of physics and cause and effect, it also showed that cats score well in the common sense department. It’s not easy to fool a cat… unless you’re using a laser toy.

The experiment

Researchers showed 30 cats “either an object dropping out of an opaque container” or nothing dropping out when the containers were turned over. First, scientists shook the containers with objects to produce a rattling sound, but also shook the empty containers which didn’t produce noise. The felines then were allowed to roam around and explore the area where the experiment was conducted. Fifteen — or half — of the cats “actively explored” containers with an object that made noise in them. Just 10 cats explored the “no object and no sound” containers.

The results showed that cats looked at the container longer when there was noise than when there wasn’t — an action known as “preferential looking.” They also peered longer when an “incongruent” event occurred — such as an object dropping out of a container that didn’t make a noise, or no object dropping out of one that did rattle.

The researchers concluded the result “suggests that cats inferred the existence (or absence) of the object based on the rattling sound (or no sound) and predicted the appearance of the object (or not), applying a physical rule.” They surmised this reflects natural feline hunting ability, as they must often discover the location of prey solely by sound. Since cats are basically nocturnal — although as any cat lover knows, they sleep day and night — their primary hunting hours are spent in the dark. The study shows cats use cause and logic regarding noise to determine the presence of invisible objects.

Feline hearing

Dogs have a fantastic sense of smell, but felines possess exceptional hearing ability and beat the canines in the aural department. Although cats have good vision, hearing is their sharper sense. A typical feline’s audible range is 79 kilohertz, or about 10.5 octaves. Human hearing is in the 20 kilohertz range. That means a cat can distinguish the very high-pitched sounds made by rodents, inaudible to the human ear. He can tell the difference between similar ultrasonic sounds several yards away.

Feline ears have 22 muscles in the outer ear, or pinna. Consisting of cartilage and covered with hair, the pinna is designed to catch sound waves, sending them down the ear canal to the eardrum. You’ve certainly noticed that your cat can move his ears separately, and often communicates his emotional state via the ears.

Deafness

Does this mean a deaf or hard-of-hearing cat can’t hunt? Not necessarily, although he’s unlikely to perform this task well. In an area where prey is abundant, the deaf cat may still catch mice or other animals. It also depends on prey drive — there are some cats that really enjoy hunting and will pursue it enthusiastically even if they aren’t particularly successful. Of course, deaf cats really belong indoors, as the outside world is too dangerous for them.

Do try this at home

The Kyoto University experiment is one that you can try to replicate at home with your own kitties. The Kyoto University team used metal balls as items in the opaque containers. You can use anything that rattles, but consider expanding the experiment. Along with ordinary rattling items, switch to toy mice or similar objects resembling prey.  See if your cats show more interest in prey-like pieces than other noisy articles.

In simple terms, cats understand an action leads to a reaction. Researchers still don’t know “what cats see in their mind’s eye when they pick up noises,” so further study is necessary.

KIRSTEN RENEE COWART: “Do You Have These 6 Psychic Senses?”

pineal-gland-600x372

Just like a river, spiritual information is constantly flowing by.  Sometimes sensitive people naturally reach out and touch these rivers of information.

tumblr_inline_n45hi2WJXI1r1aqjjSometimes these abilities are also related to radio waves where we tune ourselves to pick up different frequencies.  This information is received by our higher or psychic senses and we typically are more dominant in one or two of these senses.

Some people who naturally tap into these senses can be a bit overwhelmed by it at first.   It takes time and practice but it can become a controlled and even fun experience over time.

We have five main senses; sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.  We also have psychic senses.  Typically we align these with our 5 basic senses because it makes them easier to understand and to train.  We also add in a 6th sense into the psychic sense list because there is a higher sense of intuition that is important when studying psychic abilities.

Psychic senses all start with the prefix of ‘clair’ from the French word meaning “clear”.  We are going to look at Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience,  Clairalience, & Claircognizance.

1. Clear Seeing Is known as Clairvoyance.

timthumbThis is the ability that is most widely known and is the ability where we use the third eye to see beyond what our normal eyes could see.  Through meditation people are able to use this to remote view other places, other times and even see visions or glimpses of possible future timelines.

The level of detail seen depends on the skill.  Just like some people have better vision than others, some people see in full detail and color while others just get glimpses of far off places and have to figure out what it means.   People with Clairvoyance will sometimes become artists in order to express what they are picking up.

2. Clear Hearing is known as Clairaudience.

FFClairaudience is the ability to hear beyond.  Sometimes people hear music, words, or sounds in their minds that is beyond what we can normally hear.  For example a song will get stuck in their head only to find out that their best friend has been listening to that song all day.

Often people with this gift will become musicians, dancers, singers, speakers, or writers.  Sometimes their connection to music is so powerful that they almost have an out of body experience when listening to it.  Their connection to the vibration and meaning of words can also be far beyond the average person.

3. Clear Smelling is known as Clairalience.

puppy-smelling-flower2Clairalience is the ability to pick up smells that are beyond what is in the physical world.  They may smell a particular cigar brand or perfume of a loved one and know that they need to give them a call.

They may also have an enhanced sense of smell and detect changes in the weather and predict coming storms.  Sometimes people who are dominant in this ability will enjoy tea ceremonies, tasting wine or planting flower gardens.

4. Clear Tasting is Clairgustance.

food_photography_first_biteSometimes people are able to taste beyond what is in their food.  For example someone might feel that their food in a restaurant tastes bad even though everyone else seemed to enjoy it.  What they might be picking up is that the chef was in a bad mood and what they are tasting is the negative energy in the food.

Also they may pick up tastes of food their close friends are eating.  Sometimes suddenly having the craving of a your grannies best cooking after she has passed can be a vibrational connection to the other side.

As you can probably guess people who are dominant in this area often enjoy cooking and trying exotic foods.  They can practically taste the culture and history behind the food and can be very picky.  These people are better at sensing harmful toxins in their food and even GMOs.

5. Clear Feeling is known as Clairsentience and also has strong ties to Empathic Abilities.

Clairsentience is being able to feel beyond into a friend or spirit.  This is often recognised in twins when one gets hurt physically and the other one feels it.  Sometimes mothers will suddenly just know that their child is hurt and even feel sore in their body where the child was injured.

The other side of this is the Empathic sense where emotions are shared.  Have you ever been really upset and unsure why?  Only to find out later that you best friend was really angry or upset?  We are more sensitive than we think and can accidentally pick up what other people are feeling.  People who are extremely sensitive in this area can be driving down the road, pass a complete stranger and get a rush of their emotions.

People who are dominant in these senses often look for ways to ease other peoples pain.  They become healers, therapists, motivational speakers, and over all sensitive and understanding friends.   If you have this sense you should check out our guide on how to protect yourself as an empath by clicking here!

6. Clear Knowing is called Claircognizance.

pathClaircognizance is knowing about events or people that you normally would have no way of knowing about.  Such as knowing intuitively that someone needs help or that there is an earthquake happening on the other side of the world.  Sometimes this gift will warn you that something is going to happen in the future so that you can be wise and prepare.

Though this gift can get a little confused with clairvoyance it is knowing on a deeper level than just seeing.  Often this is linked to faith and divine guidance.  Trust and follow your gut feelings and the flow will lead you to where you need to go in life.

Can I have all of the senses?

01AwcAX1rfZMQAAAABAAAAAAAAAAA_Yes.  We have all of the senses, however, sometimes they are dormant or waiting for us to reactivate them.  Sometimes we have had an experience or two in each of these areas but are taught to shrug it off as a coincidence.  What we need to first do is to recognise and acknowledge that we are experiencing something real; then we will be able to strengthen the senses through practice and meditation.

Have you had any of these experiences?  What other experiences have you had with you psychic senses?  Let us know in the comments!

Thank you for reading,

Kirsten
